June report

Not much action for the month worthy of a blog, but I’ve been keeping my writing muscles sharp. (What’s a writing muscle anyway? And why would a muscle be sharp? Bad metaphor there!)

I placed pieces in two publications this month. First, the one of which I’m most proud. Seriously, this one probably goes in the top 5, and I’ve been published professionally since I was 15, thanks to the Detroit Free Press high school journalism workshop.

I’ve rarely written about my family, and my Father’s Day tribute to my dad made The Washington Post and got a retweet from U.S. Secretary of Education John B. King, Jr. Missed it? Click here for the story.

Last week, Baby K’s birth story made Parent.co. Click here to read it in all its glory and messiness. Maybe not while eating though.
